Upakalpanā are the secondary preparations that hold great significance from a pharmaceutical point of view.

These preparations are developed on the basis of Panchavidha Kaṣhāya Kalpanā, which act as their fundamental framework.

1.Upakalpana of Kalka ( churna)

2.Upakalpana of kwatha ( pramathya, paniya, ushnodaka, ksheerpaka, Laksha rasa , Māmsa rasa)

3.Upakalpana of Hima ( Mantha , Udaka , Panaka)

4.Upakalpana of Phanta ( Arka)
