Rajasthan has a rich tradition of revered folk goddesses (Lok Devis), each worshipped for specific boons, regional protection, or as Kuldevis (clan deities).The most prominent folk goddesses across the state include:Karni Mata: Located in Deshnoke (near Bikaner), she is revered as an incarnation of Goddess Durga. Known as the “Goddess of Rats,” her temple is famous for the thousands of protected rodents (kabas) that live inside.Rani Sati: Housed in Jhunjhunu in the Shekhawati region, this 400-year-old temple is dedicated to Narayani Devi, who is widely worshipped as a symbol of feminine bravery and maternal power. Her primary shrine is at Seel ki Doongri in Chaksu (Jaipur), and she is historically the only goddess worshipped with a broken idol.Kaila Devi: Located on the Trikut Hills in Karauli, this goddess is considered an avatar of Goddess Durga and is the Kuldevi of the Yaduvanshi Rajputs.
